What religion are you? Would you have and follow the same religion if you had been born in another country, time, or with different parents? How many people throughout history have been killed in the name of God? How many conflicts still exist in the world based on religion.
I'm not anti God or even anti religion, just of the opinion that most religions have been distorted, changed and re-directed by people with a different way of seeing things than perhaps God intended. Maybe they have an agenda, most seem to want to do good, but in the end they're just human. Prone to mistakes, and doing bad things. We all do, it happens. Some do more good than bad, others vice-versa.
Yeah I know, a kind of taboo subject. Really tough for people to examine how and why they believe what they do. If you ever honestly examine your belief you will almost surely see that the group you are born into will determine your beliefs almost 99% of the time. How many people brought up into one religion convert ON THEIR OWN, to another religion. I mean by looking at the ideas presented by all the popular religions and determine which is best for them? I don't have the statistics, but I think it's fair to say - NOT VERY MANY!
Could be a good thing to do. We seem to all have lost the ability to really THINK. I'm not supporting any particular religion. I do know I didn't, and haven't met anyone who could, create the universe, the earth and all the marvels that are well beyond all of our comprehension.
What I have seen is that every religion I have studied, appears to strongly support ideas of being good to one another, taking care of our home (earth) and all it's creatures. Yet with so many "religious" people on the planet, it really does NOT appear those types of ideas are being followed.
